Find out which player you are using

A provider title opens in the provider’s embedded player. That player controls its own available servers, quality, captions and advertising. A direct HLS or MP4 stream opens in Melmuh’s native web player. Knowing the difference helps you choose the correct settings instead of looking for a control that belongs to the other player.

A movie appearing in the catalogue means its metadata is available. It does not establish that a playable source is available for your device or region. If a provider has no working stream, changing the poster, app badge or player layout cannot create the missing video.

Use the quality the source really supplies

An adaptive HLS stream can offer several tracks. The direct player builds its quality list from those tracks, so the list can differ from one source to another. Auto is a useful starting point because the player can adapt to network conditions. A 4K display or app label cannot turn a lower-resolution source into a 4K recording.

If video buffers, try a lower available track and allow playback to settle before changing it again. Compare the same source on a reliable connection. A lower track can reduce data use, but it will not fix an expired URL, missing access permission or a source that is offline.

Check access and browser support

A direct stream must be reachable over HTTPS and allow the browser to request its media. A URL working in another application does not always mean it will work in a browser: the source can require different headers, a supported codec or cross-origin permission. Use the source’s authorized browser link or contact its operator when those requirements are unclear.

Public live channels can go offline, restrict a programme by region or change their feed URL. Try another listed feed or channel to identify whether the problem is limited to one source. The app cannot promise every public feed will be available at every moment.

Make the controls work for your device

In the direct player, double-tap to move ten seconds and use a horizontal gesture to scrub. A vertical swipe on the left adjusts the video’s visible brightness; it is not a change to the device’s physical display setting. On the right, a swipe requests a change to the video volume. Some mobile browsers still require the device’s volume buttons.

Fullscreen and picture in picture depend on the browser and video. External subtitle overlays are visible in the web player, while native picture in picture may show only captions embedded in the video. Before a long session, test a short scene with the quality and subtitle settings you plan to use. Keep the source title and the error message when reporting a problem; never send an AI key with a playback report.
