Start with the text and timing you already have
Open Subtitle Studio from the cinema navigation. Choose an SRT or VTT file, paste the text, or try the supplied sample. The current web app accepts UTF-8 subtitle files under 2 MB. A normal cue has a number, start and end times, then the spoken text. Keep a separate copy of your original file before editing.
If Myanmar text looks like broken symbols, check the file’s encoding in a text editor and save it as UTF-8. This app expects Unicode text. Changing a font alone cannot repair a file that has been decoded incorrectly. Check several cues near the beginning, middle and end, rather than relying only on the first line.
Separate conversion from translation
SRT and WebVTT use slightly different timestamp punctuation and file structure. Use the SRT or VTT export buttons when you only need a different format. Conversion and ZIP export run locally and do not require an AI key. They preserve the cue timing supplied by the original text.
Translation is a separate action. Connect Gemini or OpenRouter in AI providers, choose an available model, then return to Studio and select a target language. Translation sends subtitle text to the selected provider and can use its quota or credits. The app is not recording or transcribing the movie’s audio; it works from the subtitle text you provide.
Review the words before calling a subtitle finished
After translation, read the editable result. Pay attention to names, jokes, changes of speaker and whether a sentence needs a shorter line. Check Zomi wording with a fluent speaker when possible. A model can produce readable text that still changes the meaning. The app’s timing preservation does not guarantee that a translated sentence fits comfortably into the time on screen.
Watch a few scenes using the original video and your new file. If all captions are shifted by the same amount, the player’s subtitle timing controls can help during playback. If the offset grows as the film continues, you may have a subtitle made for a different edit or release. A single fixed offset will not repair every kind of timing mismatch.
Export a useful handoff
The ZIP bundle contains SRT, VTT and a small README so another person can identify the output. Give your file a useful name, including the title and language, and keep the untouched original alongside the reviewed version. Share only files you have permission to distribute.
In the direct web player, open Subtitle settings and load the exported SRT or VTT. External captions work inside that player; an embedded third-party player uses its own caption menu. If translation is cancelled or a batch is incomplete, review the message and retain the original file instead of assuming that every cue was translated.
